Tips to Start Your Own Community Gatherings
Want to start your own group? Here are some guidelines that might help:
- Pick a quiet place where people can gather and talk without interruption. An inexpensive restaurant works well.
- Invite your friends, and have those who attend invite theirs, too. Tell them you're hosting a gathering to explore the possibilities of community and to discuss the things that might stand in the way.
- Make it Dutch Treat so everyone picks up their own tab.
- Regularity helps grow your group, so hold gatherings once a month. Send email reminders a few days in advance.
- Send us an email with the date, time and location of your meeting. We'll post it here and circulate it to the Network so any others visiting your area can attend.
- Just have fun and get to know each other. Everything else will flow from there.
